Though scientists of his era often collected natural specimens for research purposes, Amsterdam-based pharmacist Albertus Seba(1665–1736) was unrivaled in his passion. In 1731, after decades of collecting, Seba commissioned careful and often scenic illustrations of every specimen. Anton Corbijn Depeche Mode, Reuel Golden Collector’s Edition
In 1981, Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn first met Depeche Mode in London when he shot them for an NME cover; in the foreground the smirking, blurred singer Dave Gahan, the rest of the band standing behind him smiling in sharp focus. According to Corbijn, the band were, at the time, “too poppy” for his taste. Fast forward five years and Depeche Mode were transforming their sound and look, with Corbijn now serving as the band’s creative director. Since 1986, he has crafted all of their visuals including photography, videos, and set designs.
