Now considered the most definitive British luxury car company, Bentley Motors Ltd was founded by Walter Owen Bentley in 1919 in Cricklewood, North London, under humble circumstances. Within that same year, the first car designed and built by the marque’s namesake pulled out on to the streets of London. From that moment forward, the company has continued to build upon the original conviction set out by W. O.—to not only build a fast and good car, but to build the best in its class. Within the next decade, Bentley Motors went on to clench five total, and four consecutive, victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s oldest and most prestigious automobile endurance race, precipitating the romance, heart, resolve, and spirit that Bentley has become known for.
